Dance Sansaar has delivered Bhangra Dance and music workshops throughout the UK. Since 2004 it has been our pleasure to have worked with over 250,000 people, at over 1000 schools and community organisations across the country.

Hodge Hill Summer School (2nd Year)

Project outline: Deliver Bhangra music and dance workshops during the week and deliver a performance piece at the end.

Jag and I have been working with 3 groups with around 18 students in each group. We have looked at Bhangra dance, Bollywood dance and learned to play rhythms on the Dhol. The activities are a part of the summer school programme and were organised by Octoplus and facilitated by Sound Futures.
The week has gone very well and the student have been exemplary! There has been a very positive vibe throughout the week and a real sense of cohesion from everyone involved; including the facilitators, support staff, co-ordinators and participants. Read more

This was my third visit to the school and it’s always a very warm and loving place to come back to. Over the years I have built up a good relationship with the staff and even some of the children remember who I am! Project outline: 12 week project to engage young people from 0 to 4 years, in music & dance.

For the first day of the project I welcomed the 3 to 4 year old children and their parents by playing the Dhol drum. This was to see the young peoples reaction, and also to get them used to the sound of the dhol. Read more
