Surprise visit from Pudsey!

“Juniors go Pyjamas!”

Nachda Sansaar Juniors and Giddha Sansaar girls danced away in their pyjamas last Friday with Pudsey faces, raising money for Children in Need and raised a grand total of £160! The enthusiastic dancers cheered with excitement as a surprise visit from the iconic bear Pudsey lifted the atmosphere and took part in Dhol playing.

“I wish we could train in our pyjamas every week!” – Manisha, aged 9

This view was shared pretty much by everyone and the night turned out to be a great success!

Christmas at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhavan Centre!

January 16, 2012

Dancing with the likes of the Consulate General of India and the Mayor Councillor Ann Shakelton.

Christmas celebrations were well underway at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhavan as they organised a warm and welcoming lunch for the elderly people from the local community. As a team we were privileged to entertain and throw in some extra festive joy during this very heart warming event. One hand on their plate and the other in the air, our audience gladly participated! It was a lovely sight seeing over 200 people, raising those arms over the tables and taking part in Lawk Naach – a dance for all! One hand on their plate and the other in the air, our audience gladly participated! AnchorCert and Harvey Nichols 10th Anniversary

October 19, 2011

Celebrating with the Celebrities! As we celebrated AnchorCert’s and Harvey Nichols 10th anniversary, the handmade 10th birthday cake made with edible diamonds wasn’t the only set of diamonds in store, as surprise visits from James Corden, from the very popular Gavin and Stacey and one of the very talented groups from UK’s talented – One direction filled the store with more positive energy than it already had!

As our Dance Sansaar team invited guests and workers in the store to enjoy Anil and Sunil’s famous Dhol beats, James Corden and the One direction boys danced away and celebrated the anniversary with a performance of their own. Staff members and guests were astonished as they experienced the lively atmosphere and soon couldn’t help but join in. Also at the event were guests including the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, BBC Midlands Today presenter Suzanne Verdi who was Cinderella for the night and wore the luxurious solid gold and diamond encrusted stiletto shoes worth £100,000 and councillor Anita Ward to name but a few. Soon after many inspiring and influential speeches we performed a collaborative routine of Bhangra and Bollywood moves, to a great group of cheery guests, an experience I certainly won’t be forgetting! However what made this audience even better was that before our routine was complete they were all set and ready to have a go! Everyone from special guests to staff members were taking part in our Lawk Naach workshop, building up an appetite before we indulged ourself into that luxurious cake! It was a great evening which embraced the culture and inspiring people of Birmingham! We would like to thank Penny Parkes for inviting us to be a part of  the celebrations of their exceptional milestone.

Lawk Naach workshop in Solihull 2011

October 1, 2011

It was that weekend when most of us had our shorts, sunglasses and summer wear on. Celebrating the weather, Dance Sansaar made their way to sunny Solihull to promote our Lawk Naach (people dancing) Dancing for the Games project. We were greeted by a very welcoming bunch of people and there was heaps of excitement, joy and a buzz around the whole town centre. Anil got the crowd going as he played his Dhol (drum) and spread a happy and joyous atmosphere as Jag got everyone clapping to the beat! Our Giddha performance definitely got the youngsters of Solihull up and dancing as we had a couple of children up in the marquee taking part in the Lawk Naach workshop and doing better than Jag himself! Always so inspiring seeing children enjoying different cultures and having a great time. Without doubt the ‘Bhangra funky chicken’ once again was everyone’s favourite move!
During the workshop a woman who initially struggled to join in with the activities inspired the team by volunteering herself to undertake the whole 5 step routine. It was an absolute  delight seeing the smile on her face whilst performing alongside the Solihull team. The effort and courage shown by the performers was outstanding! It was an absolute pleasure spending our afternoon enjoying the weather with everyone in Solihull. We would like to thank Melanie for inviting us and letting us be a part of such a great day!
